A cool £900,000 can buy you the Bugatti 16C Galibier, a luxury four door version of the legendary Veyron.
Well, it probably can’t because the entire production run has already been sold by invitation to a select few at the company’s birthplace in Molsheim, Alsace. With the same 8.0-litre front-mounted W16 engine as its older brother, the Galibier is capable of 217mph.
Bugatti intend the concept “to be the most exclusive, elegant, and powerful four door automobile in the world”. Two-stage superchargers push the power output up to an expected 1000bhp, and carbon ceramic brakes bring it back to zero again, but no Veyron-style air-brake has been mentioned yet.
The exterior styling is inspired by Bugatti models from the 1920’s, but materials used are bang up to date and include carbon fibre and aluminium wings to reduce weight. An old-style split bonnet and 8 exhaust-tips at the back just add to the visual appeal.
The interior is all about luxury, with striking combinations of leather, suede and wood, along with intricate dials of Swiss quality.

The Galibier celebrates the 100th birthday of Bugatti, and is one of several studies that the company want to use to figure out their future direction. For instance, we’ll hopefully soon be joined by a new ’super’ Veyron churning out a staggering 1350bhp!
