Imagine 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds, lap times at Nurburgring faster than a Carrera GT, top speed of 198 mph, and most amazingly fuel economy of 78mpg and you have the Porsche 918 Spyder. It’s a serious statement of intent from Porsche and is wowing everyone at the Geneva Motor Show.
Set to make it’s debut at next week’s 2010 Geneva Motor Show is the Porsche Cayenne 2011. The new model features a much sleeker appearance with a new front grille and a more rounded sexy rear end. The interior has been redesigned with nearly everything having been tweaked.
Porsche’s regular Turbo is already the firm’s fastest-accelerating car, but this hasn’t stopped them producing an even more extreme 2011 variant - the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
The ultimate version of the four-wheel drive supercar will getting more power and will be arriving in UK showrooms later on this year, after making its world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show next month.
About to take to the road is the all-new lightweight Porsche Boxster Spyder, a driver-focused version of the mid-engined Boxster.
At 1275kg, the new Boxster Spyder is inspired by the 1954 550 Spyder which stood only 3-feet high and weighed in at only 550kg. Porsche is reportedly using the Panamera as a basis for a new, luxury 2+2 grand tourer which will be available in 2012 but that harks back to the legendary 928 from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. The Stuttgart firm has an obvious hole in its line up for a front-engine GT that sits between the 911 and Panamera. A two-door, short wheel base version of the Panamera is being developed that retains the same front end, but replaces the back end with something far more smooth and curvy that gives it a much more appealing and balanced look for the style-conscious driver.
