The German tuners Brabus have shown off a new version of its sporty little electric Smart Fortwo called the Unlimited High Voltage, which is the updated version of the company’s electric Smart ED concept.
This cutesy little car features a lithium ion battery pack which is supplied by Tesla Motors, Daimler’s vehicle partner, and with its rear mounted electric motor, also developed by Tesla, offers 82bhp and 207lb ft of torque. Mercedes-Benz specialist tuner Brabus has decided that Darth Vader should ditch the TIE fighter and cruise to important business meetings in a car that matches his wardrobe, with the new Brabus E V12 “Black Baron”.
Based on the E-class and now using a twin-turbo 6.3 litre V12 engine to churn out over 800bhp, the Black Baron is capable of cruising to a mind-boggling, yet electronically limited, 217mph and shooting from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds.
