Lotus Evora Cup Racer To Hit The Track

The Lotus Evora Cup Racer has been revealed and is set to star in a special one-make racing series in 2011. Boosting the power output from 280bhp to a massive 400bhp by increasing the capacity of the standard Evora’s V8 up to 4.0-litres has certainly made a huge difference to the car’s abilities. The power is maximised by a sequential gear box with flappy paddles, huge brakes and uprated and adjustable dampers. Tie that to a 200kg weight loss, Dallara-designed aerodynamics package and Lotus’ legendary handling, and you’ve got a seriously competitive but incredibly fun motor for those weekend track days!

The Evora Cup is scheduled to first take part fighting BMW M3s and Aston Martin Vantages in an upcoming FIA GT racing event.

The Lotus Evora Cup races start ion 2011 and culminate in end of season races at Vallelunga and Donington, with a €100,000 prize on offer. Which, for the most part, would make up for the £120,000 forked out on the Evora Cup Racer in the first place.

If you fancy getting on the list to take part, check out www.lotusevoracup.com. Full specifications and further details about the car will be made available at the Geneva Motor Show.
