Daihatsu are unveiling a trilogy of quirky little concept motors at the upcoming Tokyo show, all based on their 3-cylinder 660cc engine.

The first minicar concept is the Deca Deca, Japanese for “roomy roomy”, a boxy looking MPV which, for its diminutive size, offers plenty of innovation in the way the interior can be configured many different ways to make best use of space. With doors that offer a wide opening for loading and seats that can moved or removed, the Deca Deca is an interesting combination of practicality and frugality. And style, if you’re into that kind of style.

The Motor Show in Tokyo will display exhibits from crazy concepts to plain sensible motors.  Either way, there will be something for everyone when its doors open later this month, and Nissan are no exception, with their line up of exhibits catering for one and all on their stand alone.

Mazda’s CX-7 was originally introduced in Japan, and now this new Mazda CX-7 ‘Sports Crossover’ has had some visual modifications, along with some engine adjustments, to offer a unique driving experience.

Volkswagen Beetle - A New Uber-Retro Model is coming

Volkswagen will release a new model of the iconic Beetle in 2012, and according to VW’s Group Head Designer, it “will be a big step” for the brand.

The Beetle has been a huge success for VW in the US, with the European and the UK market often branding it a little bit too ‘girly’, and a bit gimmicky.  But the US buyers seem to love the new Beetle, with sales peaking at 83,434 in the country in 1999.
